I read this last month. It is now my favorite modern book. Anyone else read it? What did you think?
The author has an intriguing personal story. He quit a successful law practice to write and be a SAHD - in 1988. He published his first book in 2006, a collection of short stories that I also really enjoyed. Several of the stories won various prizes and the collection itself won the PEN/Hemingway award. He then wrote a novel that his publisher refused to print because it wasn't good enough. Billy Lynn was published this year and is a finalist for the national book award.
