Just ordered our 2012 Christmas photo cards! Feels great to have 1 thing checked off the Christmas to-do list!!!
I ordered from Shutterfly (where we always order from) and got a pretty good deal! 40% off, and free shipping! (And no, I don't work for Shutterfly!)
We have 111 people on our list this year though, so it still adds up a bit , but last year we had 123 so I feel pretty good about narrowing down our list by 12 people (haha).
Am I crazy for mailing out 111 Christmas Cards? How many do you send out on an average year?
I'm doing 12 this year. Family only. I'm curious what criteria other people use for determining who to send theirs to and whether or not that changed after having kids.

Well, I sort of have a dysfunctional family (both of my parents are remarried) and we used to send to all the aunts and uncles, but this year I cut a few of them out that I never really was close to or ever spent any time with, but we still send to the ones we see now and then, plus all our cousins, friends, close friends of my parents that I've grown up knowing, neighbors, a few families from church, etc. I also keep track of who we get cards back from each year, so if there's an able-bodied person that we keep sending cards to and never get one back and if we're not that close, they get the axe
Man, you are on top of it! We used to do a ton, but 2 years ago I narrowed it to about 35. I haven't even thought about ours yet.
I don't know about being on top of it, but thanks! Haha.. Usually I like to order mine before Thanksgiving so I can get some good discounts! I won't be mailing them until December though
I went through Shutterfly last year, but I'm actually using Costco this year. $15 for 50 cards! And they have a "design your own" option, so I think it will look more expensive than it is.
We send 75-100 each year. Definitely more than we did pre-kids!

I thought I had a lot of family!
I am ordering through VistaPrint. I usually make my own but I was feeling uninspired (and how could you with that picture down there?!) so I picked one of their designer designs. I also have to order birth announcements and little moving cards! I might just DIY the moving cards still, but I need to find some brown "kraft paper" type card stock that's thick enough.

Wow, so this is sort of a narrowed down list. Go you! I'm thinking we'll send more after we have kids. Do you receive ~100 cards?
We send about 12 usually, but I'm not sure that I'm going to do them at all this year. It doesn't seem like most people we know do them. We have one person who does the Christmas letter and a couple people who do a New Years photo card.
I send to about 45. I've tried to cut people in the past only to be asked by those people later where their card was lol.
I generally order through Tiny Prints. A little pricy, but gorgeous. I love that on the back of the cards there's a spot to type a few sentences so that I can update people without authoring a novella.
I was ready to go, but the pics we took a couple weekends ago didn't turn out so hot, so we'll retake over Tday.

There are about 50 people on our list. I'm ordering letterpress cards this year through Etsy. They're $$$, but we haven't found anything we've liked in stores and it's TOUGH to find something both R and I like.

We used Costco last year and they were very nice. Our only issue was that I listen to my H too much. I should have just gone with the pics I wanted to use...grrrr...
We send about 50 and they go to friends and family (H has a lot of cousins).

We get a bunch, but probably not quite as many as we send out. (We send to a few elderly people that no longer do cards, but we know they enjoy receiving ours so we keep up with those ones at least.) I'm hoping to continue to keep weeding ppl out year by year though. We started off with about 175 cards the first Christmas after we got married because it was my mom's great idea to send everyone that came to our wedding a card (it had a wedding picture that year), so ever since then we've been trying to narrow our list. We're going on year 4 now and hopefully the list will keep getting smaller! Haha.
I ordered our last week with 40% off from shutterfly pic in signature
Cute card, Sierramist! I also ordered mine just in time to get the 40% off and free shipping. The 40% off ends on Wednesday so I thought I better get them ordered!

I just ordered last night from MyPublisher.com. Not the cheapest out there, but they're great quality, and I had my heart set on a specific style. We're going to be sending out about 50.
