For the bathroom: We order one insulated glazing unit (ie window glass) a month ago. They said 2 weeks. I called at 2.5 weeks, guy said prob at the end of that week. I call today, yea, the manufacturer never got the order. Wtf? So they are rushing it to get it done hopefully this week. Should I ask for a discount?
Then, we got our awesome radiator..... With a chip in the white. I had to call the UK because their US location is just a shipping center. On the phone lady says they are sending a replacement today. Then I get an email saying they will give us 10% off to just keep it. 10%? Um no. Chipped paint in a steamy area makes me nervous about rust. So now with the time difference I'm going to have to wait to call them and see what is up with shipping the new one. They better not make us wait until they send someone and get the old one back to ship the new one. Grr.
These frustrating issues are exactly why we will gladly pay a GC on our future new build!

I will gladly pay someone to not have to deal with these types of issues (and nagging subs to show up) when building a whole house!
I was secretly hoping they'd just let us keep the damaged one too. I'd try to seal the damaged area and install it in the upstairs bathroom. I know a bunch of companies don't make you send back damaged stuff anymore.
Our approach was to purchase/assemble all needed items prior to beginning the bathroom renovation. That way we did not have things torn apart longer than necessary once work began.
I know I'm in the minority on this board, but I'll always gladly pay someone for those sorts of things. I don't the patience, time or ambition. Good luck on getting your problems solved!

That is what we are doing. Except this wasn't a bathroom to begin with, it was two unused closets, so we don't have minimize down time.

They emailed me today: "Thank-you fpr your confirmation. A new article will be sent from our New York warehouse to you today and I have asked that the first one be collected.
Both delivery and collectiohn will be made this week.
Sorry for the inconvenience caused."
Holy bad spelling! They haven't sent any details about collection, so I have no idea what I'm supposed to do.
