Yes - exactly! It has absolutely nothing to do with the fact that the Republican Party seems stuck in the 1950s, where women exist to have dinner on the table when the menfolk get home from work. It has nothing to do with the fact that GOP candidates regularly said disgusting things about rape, how they believe that women who have been raped should be forced to have the baby, but refuse to consider maternity leave policies, and want to slash funding for the social safety net. (Pro-fetus, anti-baby!) That Republicans see no problem with the fact that women make 77 cents for every dollar men make. Nope - I'm just a slut who wants free birth control.
Again, this is all very old news. Why it came up this election is astounding. Like I said... to cover for the fact that Obama had nothing to run on... they created these divisions and fed women the ammo they wanted them to use.
No politician "regularly said disgusting things about rape"' ffs. One guy made a comment, of HIS beliefs, stating the baby (not the rape) is still a gift from God.... and people ran with that, again... for lack of any substance on their candidates part. People that don't believe in killing babies, are not going to differentiate between sluts, wannabe moms, or rape victims. Babies being murdered are babies being murdered.
I never called anyone a slut, nor would I. How the fuck would I know anything about them that theu don't bring up ?
Only one or 2 people "tried to have a conversation" with me.... most of them threw insults and names.... doesn't affect me, but don't try and claim I insulted people that wanted to discuss this with me, for fuck's sake.
And I don't think women were "tricked" by Obama... I think women were fed bad info and they ran with it.
Obama ran on a campaign of namecalling Mitt Romney.... not a campaign of his accomplishments... and guess why....
So any group the DNC could get to repeat their bad info, was a win for them.
As far as winning anyone over, I can honestly tell you I don't give a fuck what anyone here thinks of me.. I won't be staying. I Googled something and one hit was this forum. Some made up story about sugar in water. So I made a quick account and commented.
I haven't the slightest clue what GBCN even stands for.
Obviously stands for "overly sensitive, angry liberals" in some form or another.
Maybe "funny gifs" would be in there too... who knows.
See, the whole idea that women were "fed bad info" insinuates that we are not smart enough or otherwise paying enough attention to our bodies to know what we want and what is best for us. Do you not comprehend the misogynistic nature of your assumption? That we little ladies have to wait for a man to dumb it down for us, and bless our little hearts we believed the wrong man? That's bullshit.
"Ladies" don't say "bullshit".... so let's rephrase most of that ?

Looks like the majority of the country disagrees with you tintin, since the majority re-elected Obama. So go cry somewhere else.
Of course one would make this sour grapes or some shit.... But it's not. I see a lot about this "war on women", this election... but all their points have to do with things that have existed for so long.
Was hoping for an explanation as to why.... but it's hard to sort through this barrages of angry bitches and find any actual substance.... so if I miss someone's response a whole group of people jump on me for it, lol.
Yes, the majority voted for Obama. A lot smaller majority than last election. THis has nothing to do with that.

You have ignored all of the responses here. Is this the way that you win your argument, by putting your fingers in your ears and going LALALALALALAL, I CAN'T HEAR YOU LALALALALALA!

What? Is this real life? I hope you're joking. Because...ew. I'm sure you have all kinds of "proper" ladies dropping at your feet because you seem like an AWESOME guy.
I have been shocked to discover that I only voted for Obama because I am a free-loader who wants shit handed to me by Big Daddy government instead of working for it. Apparently, I also hate America.
H was talking to my mom on the phone last week (she voted for Romney) and asked her how she was taking the election results. She said, "oh, I'm ok. It's just time to accept that the country has changed and we don't have values anymore."
It's maddening that THIS is the lesson a lot of conservatives are taking from the election.
Meh. It's just that they are pissed that our values aren't baby boomer values. They can't handle not being in charge any more. Fuck them. They've done enough. Our values include not hating people who are gay/different. I don't see how that's not having values.

I'm LOLing that Rin Tin Tin here clearly thinks that "gay" or "bi" is an insult. And, quite honestly, if someone with his level of bigotry and ignorance wants to call me a cunt then I will happily embrace that title.

"This prick is asking for someone here to bring him to task Somebody give me some dirt on this vacuous mass so we can at last unmask him I'll pull the trigger on it, someone load the gun and cock it While we were all watching, he got Washington in his pocket."
I was just curious, and I respect your reasons. I don't agree, but I respect them. So many people (like these idiots that have responded) just throw names out there or distract from the actual question.
Anyway, women aren't denied contraceptives, they can get them any time they want. Just like always.
The rest, I see, is based on your beliefs on abortion, and as a male I can't argue against you on those. Nor would I try. Unless it was my baby of course.
Just didn't understand why all of a sudden, in this election, this "war on women" was brought up... when these issues have existed forever... except (of course) as ammo to cover for Obama's complete failures.
Seems a lot of stuff came up this election for that reason. Anyway... thanks
Have you ever heard of something called a Transvaginal Ultrasound?
Lemme tell you, the women on this board have. It's when a medical professional puts one of these... the thing on the right:
up a woman's vagina, and takes some pictures.
Now, it's all well and good when one's doctor says that, for whatever reason, we need a Transvaginal Ultrasound. It's like a cervical exam, we grit our teeth, put our feet up in the stirrups and breathe.
But in the last four years, a metric crapton of Republican LEGISLATORS (who, last time I checked, weren't required to be OBGYN MD's who have reviewed the INDIVIDUAL'S medical records) have sought to REQUIRE doctors to perform these Transvaginal Ultrasounds... not when the doctors want to, but when the legislators say to.
Now, these Republican legislators have made efforts in a number of states to require these Transvaginal Ultrasounds, not because of a medical necessity (see, go back to THEY'RE NOT DOCTORS) but to make the process as uncomfortable as possible for the women undergoing it. Ask 'em, they'll tell you.
It's been their bright idea in the last few years, and it's the sort of thing that turns women off from the Republican party. The thought that these "small government" folk are so interested in sticking something up my vagina.
Reason #938475 why WE think there's been a "war on women", TYVM.
