We just found out that there is a chance that we may have to move to london for h's job. Leaving the dog isn't an option, nor is having her fly in cargo.
Flame me if you must, but I'm willing to go to my doctor to see if I can get a note for anxiety so that she can get a service dog vest and fly in the cabin with me if there's no other alternative.
My other thought is that h can fly ahead and I see if I can cruise with the dog across the Atlantic.
Are there any other ideas that I'm missing? Thanks.

We were planning a move to the Netherlands with a dog (65 pounds) and 3 cats. It didn't end up materializing, fortunately for all of us.
I found that there is only one cruise line that takes pets, and they book almost a year out. If this is something you are considering, I would get on it, ASAP.
I looked up some pet airlines, and while they have an excellent safety record, they still fly the animals in cargo, and that wasn't really OK with me.
How well behaved is your dog? Can he get something to "keep him calm" on the plane too> I personally have no qualms about you having an "anxiety dog" to keep him alive. However, if he's an asshole, you are going to potentially ruin the opportunities for people with a true need to fly with their pets. (not necessarily legally, but from a social acceptance standpoint. who wants to fly if they are already anxious and now are just going to get harassed because some people's fake service dogs are asshats?) The cruise sounds more fun and not as scary for you or the dog. But no flames from me on resorting to the doc's note. i would never fly my pet cargo either.

You might try posting on the military family board. A lot of military folks have to move overseas to various posts and they bring their pets. They might have some good advice or ideas.
I looked and she doesn't need to be quarantined, but there's some other stuff I have to do. I feel completely comfortable taking her on a plane. The only time I've ever heard her bark was for a minute and that was due to thunder.
