So...as we're picking paint colors for various rooms I'm trying to maintain some semblance of a cohesive palette. In practice this has meant that I'm leaning really hard to blue/green/gray colors because that's what I like. We've got warm neutrals in the main living areas - which are actually the same colors that they were painted before - but everything else is a cool color. I think we could use some more variety. I just need help figuring out where to head on the color wheel to get it that will still blend.
These are the colors we have so far. A lot of these look more vibrant in person than they do in these swatches on my screen. Particularly the hall bathroom (SW Interesting Aqua).
Master Bedroom and Bathroom:
Hall bathroom:
Baby room (this is a maybe, but it'll be something in this family):
Still need to chose back bedroom color.
Living room (adjacent to kitchen) and hallway (to which all previously mentioned rooms are connected):
Kitchen:
Then downstairs - Bathroom:
Still need to chose guest room, office, and laundry room colors.
Family room and hallway (to which all downstairs rooms are connected):
MH wants to paint the laundry room a COLOR. He's mentioned yellow and orange. I told him I could get on board with something sorta coralish and he gave me the poop face. The room has no unbroken wall space (white w/d, white cabinets, two white doors, black fridge, white utility sink) so it can handle a brighter color I think - but it has a low ceiling (drop to allow access to upstairs plumbing shutoffs) and it's small so I don't want to go too deep and end up with a laundry cave. thoughts?
The guest room is the one I've asked about before where I'm planning white bedding w/ teal accents and maybe touches of a coral/salmony color. This print is color inspiration and is going on the wall:
I wanted a gray - he wanted a lemony yellow. I'm considering maybe a soft cream/barely-yellow-at-all color. Any yellows you love that don't scream at you? The master bedroom color I hated was yellow. It looked okish when we painted the sample, but it was just toooooo yellow on all 4 walls.
The back bedroom I was thinking to keeping light and neutral. I was thinking a paler griege. But I guess I could do an actual color. I dunno. Something totally random that would round out this palette is fine by me. Similar thoughts on the office downstairs. Office furniture involves some big HEAVY dark wood desks. We don't really have furniture yet for the back bedroom.
All rooms have white trim, white ceilings and wood floors of a stain color yet to be determined (will probably be a medium brown - but could be unstained red oak).
I like it a lot! I'm no help with the others, except I think a creamy orangecicle color could be fun in the laundry room! If he is against coral, just add more orange maybe? I always wanted a water/turquoise laundry room. But I really like the palette, when I look at it as a whole it's really pretty.

I originally wanted to paint the laundry room one color down from the hall bath color - Moody Blue. I really love that color. But I'm afraid it might be too dark and MH is whining about the lack of "his" colors in the house this go-round. He's a baby. And he really likes warm colors. I do have a sample of it though, so I'll probably throw it on the walls in there regardless just to see.
Yeah I know what you mean- my H doesn't care about paint, but he wants his sports stuff hung up in the basement. Well good luck finding a color you can agree on!

I love Benjamin Moore Philadelphia Cream. It's a soft, warm yellow that does not scream yellow at all. I actually ended up painting two different rooms that color because I liked it so much. Plus, I used to live in Philly and liked the name.
Oh, I should add that I spent like $40 on those small tester pots before I chose this color.
