We only spent a few nights in Santiago and I don't think that we really spent our time wisely. I've heard mixed reports about the Equadorian parts of the Amazon. We visited a Peruvian part and met people that had a great time in the Brazilian part, so maybe next trip if you were planning on these places? Emily in Chile has a great blog (I think that's here name here).

There is no way I would add San Pedro or anywhere else. Distances aren't short - from Santiago, it's almost 3 hours down to Punta Arenas and then 4-5 hours to Torres del Paine (www.emilyinchile.com/tag/torres-del-paine/) by car. San Pedro is an hour from the Calama airport. I think you're already going to have a very full but doable schedule, but if you add anything else you'll be seeing more airports than you will sights.
I would maybe add another night on Easter Island (although I haven't been yet) and take one day from Santiago, but it depends on your plans. If you want to use one Santiago day to go to Valparaíso (www.emilyinchile.com/tag/valparaiso/) and one other day to go wine tasting, for example, then 4 days is good because it gives you two days in the city itself. If you won't be doing both of those side trips, you could cut it down to 3 days. Santiago is a great city to live in but isn't super obvious for tourists in terms of having a million major attractions, so I usually say 2-3 days is good unless you're visiting someone who can take you to less well-known spots.
