last minute trip

DH as Nov 20th to 27th vacation and suddenly we're thinking of a trip to San Diego.
I know it's Thanksgiving week but I'm not sure what to expect price wise.
Does $1020 for flight and hotel (3 1/2 stars downtown San Diego) sound reasonable? 2 adults and a 17 month old toddler.

Would flying this week be absolutely hectic and terrible?
Would appreciate input. Thanks.

The $1020 is from Nov 22 back to Seattle Nov 27th.

And travel shouldn't be too bad on either of those days - maybe the Tuesday after will be a little hard (depending on if a lot of people wait to fly on Tuesday to save $$$), but traveling on Thanksgiving is usually not bad.
