With it being #2 and your mom specifying it as a baby gift, not a shower gift, I'd expect the shower gift to be something nice for the momma, not the baby. That'd be a nice idea, actually. A little on the spoiling/insane side, but nice nonetheless.

haha She sounds fun. I love that kind of thing too. I have hosted more showers at my house than I can count at this point, and I go CRAZY with details and then crazy on a pressie. It's too much fun!
