So, no more Singapore. I don't want to get into any details, but it's a cluster of a situation that makes me ragey.
I may still go just for vacation, even if H won't be there anymore. I can get credit for most of my trip to use later, and that's what my reasonable self should do, but I've been planning this for so long that it's such a huge let down. Plus, I spent miles to upgrade, and I'm not sure I can get those back.

Ugh. That sucks, dude. If you have it all planned out and airfare paid for, I'd still go. And stick to your plan of enjoying the shit out of Singapore then hoping the job situation turns around when you return. I'm sorry.

Well, I didn't have much planned b/c I anticipated staying with H. So, now I'd have to get (and pay for) lodging. Plus, I was going to be gone a month, and that seems... excessive to do on my own. Especially given that we just got back from 2 weeks in Europe. If I change my return flight, I'm paying the same penalty as if I just canceled the whole trip. So, I might as well cancel, pay the penalties, and re-book on a trip we can do together.

Oh, I should mention, I would have been leaving tomorrow. That's not much time to scramble for a month of lodging in various countries. I could be completely spontaneous, and I've done that before, but having just planned a 2 week spontaneous trip to Europe, I'm kind of planned out.
This also means we're not getting that nice chunk of per diem.

If you are going to have to cancel that ticket and what not, you need to open up a bottle of wine after you throw the gd tantrum mentioned above. Drink it. Drink it all.

It's a little too early for wine, but I did throw a bit of a tantrum on the phone, and that got me my miles back without a surchage. Seriously, it's asinine to charge me $150 to replace miles used to upgrade a flight when a) the upgrade was still waitlisted and b) the flight and therefore upgrade was never used.
Of course, that whole process wasted 2 hours of my day. It was a particularly nice little knife twist when I got the email to check in for my flight while I was on hold.
I'm going to go get a nice bottle of wine and make H a delicious steak with a mustard cognac sauce. We had that in Paris, and he loved it, and I think he's going to need a bit of cheering up when he gets home.
