So, our 2 year old mix keeps getting UTI's over and over. Every time the vet prescribes an antibiotic, it goes away for a while and comes back. It's to the point where she's just peeing all the time (in her sleep while laying on the couch, on the floor after we were out 10 minutes ago, etc.). My FIL (I live with my IL's at the moment) seems to think she's just being a jerk but we never had this problem until a few months ago so I'm inclined to disagree. I feel there is something wrong. So my question is this: After so many recurring UTI's should I be pressuring my vet to do some kind of blood work kidney related or just keep going on with antibiotics and praying to God they work at some point.
Personally I would have a full blood work up done. This will let the vet see if any of the levels are off and see if there is some underlying condition causing your dog to be prone to these infections.

Your FIL is wrong. If it ends up being behavioral (which it doesn't sound like it is), she might be doing it out of anxiety, but she's not just being a jerk.
When she pees in her sleep, is it a full-on pee, or more of a leak?
Regardless, I would ask for a full blood work up and possibly an x-ray/ultrasound to rule out stones/whatever else. Good luck!
My pup was having frequent UTI's. I would suggest having your vet doing blood work and an ultrasound/X-rays to rule out stones and anything else. Daisy's were caused by allergies and a slightly inverted vulva. Claritin and mixing cranberry relief powder into her food seemed to do the trick. We also use unscented baby wipes to keep her clean.

I'd get it cultured to see if she has an antibiotic resistant strain of bacteria causing the infections. My mum's one dog was suddenly getting a string of ear/sinus infections when he got the third one the vet sent it out for culture vs the testing they do in house,it was MRSA. Vet changed his antibiotics and he has been fine since.
