Look I had to do it. I am given to boring and I have to rely on my dependable material, lol.
I am currently reading The Sense of an Ending, by Julian Barnes and I'm towards the beginning and it's okay-ish.
And I am reading a kid's book because I had occasion to be in the kids section. Slumps, Grunts, and Snickerdoodles, What Colonial America Ate and Why by Lila Perl. I am loving it! Mostly because I am simple-minded and don't know enough history, lol.
“Life is not orderly. No matter how we try to make it so, right in the middle of it lose a leg, fall in love, drop a jar of applesauce.” - Natalie Goldberg
I just started the 2nd book. So good! I've actually been listening to the books, and now that I've pretty much gotten the character's names down, I'm good.
I also just read Two Kisses for Maddy for my book club, which was ok, but depressing. (I'm sure some read the blog a few years ago that circulated through the old place)
Perks of Being a Wallflower. I'm unimpressed so far.
Joenali - I wonder if you'll like it! I've read part of it and really liked it.
I read Perks. I didn't love it either. I felt like the author was writing out of the time period and it was distracting. Like subtract 10 years from the setting and his details and feel fit better.
I am reading Devil in the White City right now... I wasn't a fan of The Sense of an Ending... but that's just me.... I did really love The Night Circus if your looking for something a little lighter :-)

Devil in the White City is fabulous. I keep meaning to read his book about Galveston, but haven´t gotten around to it yet.

I needed a break from my serious reading, so I've been going through the Groom Series by Rose Gordon. Pretty good fluff, not well written, but easy to read in a day and entertaining.
