A couple years ago this board got into it with the Bump on shopping cart covers.
I believe I was of the persuasion that shopping cart covers were a sign of helicopter parenting run amok. Blah, blah, blah. You are over sanitizing your kids. Blah, blah, blah.
Guess what I just bought?
If you guessed shopping cart cover, give yourself 10 pts.
And I can't be all that hyper sanitizing... Here's my babe eating her shoe.
Eh, I won't judge. Shopping carts are gross. You have no idea what people might have had on their hands while they pushed them around. Plus, those seats look really uncomfortable, the padding might make them better.

I really want to get one. They look more comfortable than just a bare shopping cart. I'm not a germophobe, but watching her try to gnaw on the high chair at a local diner made me a little nauseated.
I have a shopping cart cover, but I never use it. I just wear my kid in the Ergo instead so there is NO chance of touching the nastiness on the cart. I'm that much of a germaphobe. My kids aren't allowed to sit in the cart until they are old enough to show me they won't lick it or put their hands in their mouth after touching it. So, my 14 month old rides on my back at the grocery store, the 3.5 year old sits in the cart (and gets wiped down afterwards) and the 4 year old walks.
I have one from our shower that is still boxed and with the receipt. I think it's waste, but that is just me. Now,if you are using antibacterial wipes, then there'd be issues.

I admit, I've used the antibacterial wipes on the cart when I"m pushing it around during the winter. I've watched people sneeze into their hands and then grab the cart handle. It was nasty.
Use alcohol. Please don't use antibacterial and put us at risk for superbugs. Thx.
I just use whatever's in the cart corral area, since they provide big tubs of wipes. I don't use it like crazy when I'm out and about, I don't even have any antibacterial whatever.
I usually carry my own (I'm a stickyphobe more than a germaphobe), but if I do use the store provided wipes I read the label due to an allergy. I've yet to come across a cart wipe with triclosan.
Ha! I'm the same way. I have said so many "I would never..." before, but now that I'm a parent those have gone out the window. He drinks formula, uses pacifiers and wears the occasional disposable diaper. My parenting philosophy - as long as he's clothed, fed, and not screaming, we're all happy.

Half the time, I can't remember to bring my shopping list and loyalty card to the grocery store, let alone reuseable bags or a shopping cart cover. Though most of the time, I prefer to leave L with his daddy and go alone.
Is she sitting up? What a cutie. I found A playing with his feet this morning when I went to wake him up.
She's not really sitting up unsupported for more than a few seconds. But she is now enthralled w/ her feet!
Feet are awesome for babies - they're like toys that come attached to you!

We were at DH's softball game, and I didn't realize until we got home that her sock was covered in dust and dirt that have kicked up from the field. Yum!

My kid sat in the shopping cart for maybe two months. First I just carried her in the carrier because it was easier. Now all she wants to do is help push.
