That's what I asked when we bought our house. Now its 6 years later and I have no plans on doing it. You don't see the walls of a full closet and ours are tiny!

My closet in our bedroom was faux finished when they did the bedroom. H's was not. And now, I still have faux finish in the closet because it would be a pain to empty it and prime + paint the damn thing. Maybe when we move.
The first project we tackled when we moved into our house we removing THREE layers of wallpaper (including the ceiling) from 6 closets, fixing the plaster (we had a professional do that part) and painting. Then we installed new shelves. I like nice closets!
I spent three months staring at my DH's sweaty ass since he peeled and chipped paper from the top with a steamer and I peeled from the bottom. And all the wallpaper, etc. dropped on my head.
When we moved into our house all the closets matched the bedroom they were in. I painted them all white and plan to never paint them again. It is a pain in the ass.
When we moved in, the majority of the walls were painted white. The MB was painted white. The MB closet? lavendar. Seriously. I actually think that is what I'm going to tackle this weekend- painting that thing white and never thinking about it again. Ugh.
None of our closets are painted. I have no plans to paint them anytime soon, if ever. Our closet are tiny, and if you can see the walls with all the stuff crammed in them, well then feel free to judge because I do not care. Ha!
I paint closets, too. I feel like, why not, make it fresh and clean feeling.
We noticed that in the 2 spare rooms in our next house, they painted all of the walls in the closet except for the top of the wall inside the closet that faces in (if that makes sense?) but they cut in around the edges, just didnt fill in the middle. Makes no sense at all. lol It would have been 1 roller swipe and then it would have been totally done.
I wouldn't let MH paint the closets! All three closets in the master bedroom are lime green. The room was too but we painted that and left the closets. The 2 spare room closets have original wall paper from the 60's! Big, hippy-esqe flowers.
We painted DD's closet when we were converting the room from an office to her nursery. The previous kids had colored all over the walls in there. The other closets were just fine.
When we move, one of the first things we'll do is upgrade and organize the closets, including painting. That way we don't have to pull everything out later to do it.
