I have a first generation nook that just broke and is out of warranty. My options are to pay $35 for a new first generation nook (trade in), pay $80 for a nook color (trade in) or buy the tablet for $199. Anyone here have the tablet? Do you like it?

I don't have a nook, but I have a kindle and ipad and can speak a bit to e-ink vs a regular color screen. I honestly can't stand reading on my ipad. The e-ink is so much easier on your eyes and is why I decided to go with the kindle even though I have a tablet.
If I were you I would get the nook glow. E-ink + backlight = awesome
If it matters, I love my NC! but I still can't tell you what the difference between the Color and the Tablet so my opinion might not really matter here :-P

I have the Nook Tablet and love it.
The improvements from the Nook Color to the Nook Tablet are, the Nook Tablet: * Weighs less * Has a faster processor * Contains more internal memory * Battery lasts longer * Includes a built-in microphone
You didn't state how you intend to use the Nook, so I'm not sure what your needs are. If you want it to function strictly as an e-reader, then the Nook Glow Light seems to me to be the better pick over the Nook Simple Touch. If you plan on using it for apps/movies/music as well as reading, then I would suggest considering if the upgrades between the Nook Color and Nook Tablet are worth the the price difference to you.
I hope that helps some. Please let us know which model you end up purchasing. Sorry if I rambled on.

You can't go wrong with any of the nooks. I have had the 1st gen, color, and tablet. I prefer reading on the lcd screen because I like a dark background and light letters. It does not feel like I am being blinded with lots of light. eInk is also great and my friend just got the simple touch with glowlight and it is pretty awesome (she upgraded from the 1st gen). I kind of want one of those too.
