plantar fasciitis, or something else?

A couple weeks ago I self-diagnosed myself with PF. My general left heel/ankle area has been achy, but now the outside of my ankle (like between my ankle bone and my achilles tendon) is swollen. Is this something that could happen because of PF?

I guess it's possible, but unlikely. Most PF problems are concentrated on the sole of the foot, but tight calves can be a contributing factor and may cause some swelling in the Achilles area.

Doesn't sound like any PF symptoms I've had.

Now I am thinking achilles tendonitis. Thanks to finallykrisb for mentioning that as a possibility.
