I am a lazy bum about cooking. It's kind of funny - I enjoy it when I'm in the process, but I hate planning it out and getting started. H usually does the cooking, and his repetoire is... a little repetitious. Tacos, chicken, spaghetti, lather rinse repeat.
But TODAY! Today, I got a new induction range! I am so freaking excited about this range, you have NO IDEA. I hated my old range. It was the bottom of the barrel when the flippers put it in, took about a year to boil a pot of water, and almost as long to heat up the oven. This range is supposed to be pretty freaking awesome.
It does mean I have to give away some of my cookware, but who cares. INDUCTION. I will be cooking with SCIENCE.
Update: so I used the induction range and... OMG people. It's like a religious cooking experience. I had some soup for dinner, and it heated up FASTER than in the MICROWAVE. I am in love.
Ohhhh, lucky! That sounds amazing. I can't wait to hear more tales!! That is not facetious; I love cooking.
And I'm thinking about a new stove/oven because our current one gets hot in the front when the oven is on and I'm worried about toddlers getting burned. I can stop Grayson, but when there are two, I worry.

I haven't used the oven yet, but I'm hosting THanksgiving at my place this year, so I'll let you know if my marathon cooking session results in a crazy hot oven door.
So I'm currently cooking in the oven, have been for about half an hour at 350. The stainless steel around the door does get pretty warm, but I can leave my hands on there without needing to pull them away (also, my hands are freezing). The very large glass panel on the front isn't hot at all, just a little warm, no issue. There are vents near the handle that got pretty hot though, I wouldn't want to touch them.
