YAY! just a random observation, why is there no 1 or 6 in your random number of times the question was asked?! Oh, btw, I never painted cabinets so can't help you there.
I don't think you need a kit-just a good durable paint. I swear by Rustolium's enamel paint in gloss white. It is unbelievably durable and easy to clean.

My personal breakdown on cabinet paints: -Regular latex semi-gloss (or latex enamel) is totally acceptable (what I just painted my cabs with), but I HIGHLY suggest a really good oil based primer- that's made to be coated with latex- first (Zinsser, preferably) -Semi-gloss oil based paint (or alkyd enamel) would be my personal 1st choice, because it's relatively easy to use and fuck-up resistant (I painted our exterior DOORS with a brush and oil based paint and you can't see brush strokes *at all*, I heart oil based paint, but that shit is toxic and I didn't use it in our tinytiny one window kitchen because I was pretty sure the fumes might kill me LOL) Also HD and Lowes have stopped carrying oil based paints for some reason? You'll need to head to a real store- SW, BM, Ace maybe to find it -I've never used the kits (rustoleum or whatever) but have heard absolutely rave reviews on the ease of use and durability. But aren't they $$$?
look into paint made specifically for cabinetry. when we paint our kitchen later this year, we plan on using Cabinet Coat by Insl-X. it's self leveling, so no worries about brush strokes. from the reviews I've read, people are pleased with it.
