I am using opks "correctly" for the first time this cycle. i.e. I started testing at the earliest point I would possibly ovulate, and have noticed a fade in as a result.
I've only been testing once a day; mid-late afternoon.
Yesterday tho, I had a gut feeling and took two tests. First one was darker than previous ones, but not quite positive. This was at 12:30pm. So I took a second test at 6:30pm, and it was a definite positive!
We dtd twice by coincidence, in between those two times. So questions for you all, since DH is leaving tonight, do I poas one more time today to see if it's still +? I forget what people do once they get a +.
We will likely dtd before he goes today.
Also: I had a slight temp increase which is consistent with previous cycles, meaning I'm prob ovulating today, and tomorrow's temp will go up slightly more. I def think I am a slow riser.
Thoughts?
ETA: When I used opks before I got a + on cd14 and then Od the next day. I seem to O on cd14-15 for three months now.

If you're going to dtd once more anyway, but you don't have a chance anymore after AND you got a + yesterday, POAS can't help you any more. Unless you really don't want to do it again today, I'd save the stick...
I'm (obviously!) no opk expert, but it sounds like if you're going to dtd no matter what, you might as well save the stick. Does the length of time the stick keeps coming back a + mean anything?

Why don't you want to use OPK's Blindy? I don't find them to be much of an inconvenience, and they really help with timing.
Does this mean you aren't out for this month Wine? I usually keep testing to see how long the stick stays positive, but you don't have too. Might as well save it in case you need it later.

idk...I was just curious what people thought! As I said, I've never done it "right" like ttesting to watch the fade in and out. I just tested a couple days before mid cycle, got a + on CD14, and that's it...

Well, we'll see what my temps do...I got the + opk yesterday, we've been doing plenty of sexy times, and my temp went up a bit today.
If it turns out I officially Od today (or tomorrow too I guess) I'm within range but not necessarily ideal. If my temp is up a bit more tomorrow, then I'd say maybe we lucked out and I'm not out after all!
It sounds like you had pretty good timing either way. Likely O and O-1, or O-1 and O-2, right?
Sounds about right. I did Fri, Sat, and Sunday. So if today or tomorrow is O day, then I guess I'm pretty covered.
I just didn't have much cm this time around, though I wasn't checking up in there too much this time either. I dunno. My goal was to keep going through O this time, because I hadn't done that before. I wanted to try every day through my fertile week, untila confirmed O, but DH leaving obviously crushes that dream...and I discovered I do not own a turkey baster... lol

From what I understand, sperm can survive up to 3 ish days. I think you're OK if you've already got a + opk. If you WANT to take another, go for it but it 's probably overkill. If you want to have sexy time again have fun - can't hurt .

Because with temping and checking CM, I feel like I am already obsessing enough as it is. So one more thing to buy/pee on/interpret/analyze... it just seems more stressful.
Although, if I'm still not KU in the next couple months, I'll probably consider using them.
I went for the OPK when I realized that between night wakings, being sick, and other things that mess with my sleep and mornings, it was less stress to not worry much about temping and just pee on something.
I got lucky this month and managed to get the important temps around O, though!
I took one more after I got a + just to see how long my surge was, and it was + the next day too.
Thanks for the reassurance gals. In case anyone cares, I did not poa opk today in the end.
Yes, I know spermies can live up in there for up to 3 days, but like I said, the cm has been a little...less this cycle, so I'm not sure how long they'll last with me right now. Oh well. Too late to worry now. DH is gone. I cried after he got out of the car. I feel so bummed I won't see him this week. I'm being stupid. I just feel so sad right now! I'll blame hormones maybe...
