How did everyone do over the weekend?
My eating was not great. I didn't do any traditional exercise per say but I did do a lot of cleaning, including the inside of my car and the oven. Both were long overdue and definitely a workout!
Hoping to have 3 really good days of eating and working out to start the week.
I actually went for a run this morning for the first time in about 3 weeks. Eating is going...okay....not fantastic, but okay. I've lost a few pounds due to nausea and m/s, but am trying to just maintain the same weight through the first tri.
I ate horribly. Saturday at work, I got a burger and fries for lunch. It was so good at the time. Then, yesterday, we had my niece's baptism. There was a lunch at my sister's afterwards, with lots of food, and dips and everything good, but also bad for you. And then for dinner, we didn't feel like cooking after driving home, that we stopped and got burgers at Culvers. Hopefully this week will be much better!
I want to go to the gym today, but I had some spotting yesterday that I was nervous about, so I think I'm just going to take it easy until I know everything is ok.
H and I ran a 5k yesterday and I beat my fastest time by 30 seconds or so, which was great! I'm still super slow, though, so I'm going to finally start speed work this week. I hate speed work. I haven't had much of an appetite for the past few weeks, so I'm not mindlessly snacking. I'm down 2 lbs! Although I'm sure that will change after Thursday...
The plan is to get a couple miles in when I get off work here in a bit. Its crazy windy out, so well see how that works out. I have a 10k Thursday morning so I'm trying to get a few good runs in before it!
Eating was not my strong point this weekend, but I did run 8.5 miles at a cracking pace (for me, anyway) on Saturday morning. Today is a rest day, so hopefully I can convince DH to go for an easy walk this evening.

All of these runners! I am not a runner at all. I started C25K last summer but then it got too hot to continue. I would consider starting up again now but it's already dark by the time I get home from work. I don't have a treadmill so I have to run outside. And I am not a morning person at all. What do you guys do?

I'm the farthest thing from a morning person. The only runs I do in the early morning are the actual races I sign up for. I only work part time now, so it just depends on the day and weather on if I run on the bike path or use the treadmill. I prefer running outside much more than on a treadmill. 4 miles is a piece of cake outside, but I have a hard time doing 1 mile on a treadmill.
When I worked full-time, I'd go on my lunch break sometimes. I also always take one of my dogs with me when I go, it makes me feel safer and they motivate me to go faster. I live in the great state of Montana right now, so I tend to fight the weather more than light/dark on outside runs!

For me, running provides mood/stress management that I am probably addicted to. It's not hard for me to motivate myself to run...it's more like, if I don't run, I become anxious/unhappy. My whole family is like this in regards to exercise though, so I think that's just how I'm wired.
As for morning, I run in the mornings for a little more than half the year (when it's hotter than hell here and you have to beat the heat to stay active outside) and the moment of getting up is hard. It helps me to go to bed early, lay out my running clothes before bed and have a schedule set in stone (3 runs per week + Saturday). It's rewarding because a morning run makes me feel great all day.
Afternoons are easier for me, schedule-wise (work lets me out mid/late-afternoon for me), but I miss the mood boost from the morning runs. It's a trade-off for sure. If you can't deal with mornings, have you considered joining a gym and running on a treadmill indoors? Or finding a park/track that has lights in the evening?
