Advice Needed regarding Bladder Stones

Hello, I'm a lurker needing advice regarding bladder stones. I have a four year old toy poodle who was diagnosed with bladder stones Thursday. I was given the option of surgery or using Hills prescription diet food to help dissolve the stone. The vet reccomended trying the less invasive method first. He prescibed the food, an antibiotic and a pain medicine. My poor baby wont eat the food! I called the vets office and they didnt have any suggestions other than bringing her in and scheduling the surgery Does anyone have any experience with this type of thing? Is there anything I can do to get her to eat? Is this a matter of if she gets hungry enough she will eat? Does anyone have any experience with bladder stone removal surgery? I really just want my baby girl to feel better. Thanks in advance.

Update: I ended up taking her to the vet again yesterday and went ahead with the surgery. Hopefully she will be back to her perky self soon.
