NGPR: apples

Anyone had any good apples this year? I feel like the apple crop is pretty poor this season. I got honeycrisps at Trader Joes - horrible. Tasteless and mealy. Not crispy or sweet! Then at Wegmans, the only good apples I've gotten are ginger golds. Empires and jonagolds are both mealy and tasteless.

I got some from a local farm, and they were pretty good, but the farm is pretty far away and expensive.

I eat an apple with peanut butter every morning, and this lack of tasty apples is a bummer!

I haven't seen any that look good. I think the crazy weather this year did a number on crops.

I've had a couple good Honey Crisps that I got at Target no less. But I have had a lot of bad apples too. I agree--jut not their year!

Honey crisps are my fav, but the best ones are at Whole Foods.

yeah, the apple farm my parents go to every year said it was a bad season.
