I don't see anything wrong with taking donations left at Goodwill. (This was sparked by a bump thread I read recently where pearls were clutched very tightly about it.) I mean, if you're going to take donations, doesn't that mean that you're someone in need? Also, people donating to Goodwill aren't doing it out of the goodness of their heart, they're just trying to get rid of their old shit.
*Disclaimer: I have never taken donations from a Goodwill.

I agree with both of these. If I'm dropping something off at Goodwill, I could care less who get the stuff. I just don't want it in my house anymore! I don't care if some one "steals" the box from the Goodwill drop off. Anymore the stuff people take to Goodwill is the stuff they couldn't sell at a garage sell or on consignment. I also agree that if you can't afford to pay all of your bills and need assistance, you shouldn't be buying boobs. I really try not to be too judgemental in this area because it pisses me off. There are two girls who are pregnant at work and get title 19, which pays for all their dr's bills, because they are unmarried and only work part time. I got it with my older son when I was in college. I find myself judging how they spend there money mostly because we still have some much to pay on our hospital bills. I am jealous of the thought of not having to pay anything. DS was in the NICU a week and the bill was around $50,000 and we paid $15,000 out of pocket. We have about $5,000 left that we are paying payments on. We had enough money saved to pay for a normal delivery, but we didn't expect him to go to the NICU. It doesn't help that we have conspiracy theories about the hospital's over use of the NICU. I asked my dh about having more babies and he said we can't afford to buy another one from the hospital.
Yeah, doesn't that make you want to barf?! I even have the best plan I can get at work. The problem is that they will only pay the amount they say it costs and I have to pay the rest. Like if a chest x-ray cost $300 and they cover it, but they say it should cost $200, I have to pay the extra $100. I don't think people realize how shitty our medical coverage can be here until they have to use.

I'm voting for Obama again this year. I heard a story on NPR the other day about people who are disenfranchised with him, but I think that largely boils down to unrealistic expectations of what he could do and how fast he could do it.

Regardless of what he has or hasn't accomplished while in office, he looks damn good compared to the alternative.

I have been unimpressed with Romney since the primary debates. There was a CNN debate where they were discussing birth control bans and he said "I don't think there are any legislatures that have any bills regarding birth control" (or something to that effect). This was when Mississippi was in the national headlines for having a bill on the table banning forms of bc. I was yelling at the TV "where have you been?!?!" Then he said "is there a supreme court decision regarding birth control?" Um, griswold v connecticut, homie. I really expect a presidential candidate to be more informed about constitutional issues AND more aware of issues that are hot topics in the country.

However, I think he has been in office long enough that he needs to stop blaming Bush for everything.

I get where you're coming from, but his whole campaign mantra was "change!!" and so you can't blame voters for being disappointed that he's not living up to the high expectations that he set for himself.
