Anyone read the blog or follow them on Facebook? I initially signed up because I thought they had some creative ideas, but boy are they annoying! Posts from fb this week include " yes you can wear two different shoes to the playground!" and "yes you may stand and swing!"and "yes, the laundry can wait, we're going to play!". One of the sensory activities of the week was plopping a baby in a pile of grass clippings. I'm all for exploring, but my kid would have been immediately rashy and wheezing. I guess I'm sensitive because I lack the enthusiasm for continuously playing, but surely the kids are going to have a hard time in school when they realize that the entire world doesnt revolve around them and that they can't make the rules all the time, right? Maybe I'm just much more of an old school parent than I thought.
Runs off to fill out a preschool application instead of creating an invitation to play ;p
I don't follow them, but I don't see a problem with wearing weird clothes/shoes (esp at an early age) or putting off laundry to spend a few more minutes with my child
I am too upright for most of the activities on there. I see them and just think "omg choking hazards!!!", or who is going to clean that up because I sure would not want to. I let DS do normal things like paint or play with play doh, but seeing that kid spread what looks like 5 cans of shaving cream all over the garage brings out my inner Kate Gosselin. I also cant use a hot glue gun without burning myself half the time so no freaking way I would let my toddler anywhere near one.
Im looking at it for the first time now. It looks really neat to me, and seems similar to things DD does at daycare. They are very big on learning through play.
If a daycare did that I think people would pull the kids out. Lol. Some of the ideas are good, but even with supervision I think some border on dangerous.
A big wtf to the mom who left her 4 month old with the 2 older kids while she went to get dressed. She came back and the baby was covered in band aids. Ok fine, cute pic, but the kids were also playing with SCISSORS!! I mean I guess she could have taken them when she left the room. I hope so.
well, no they dont use power tools, and they use safety scissors, of course. But I mean, they get down and dirty with the paint and have out of the box ideas when it comes to art.

I think it was also mentioned that they have like full time house cleaners and lots of extra help or something. Thats what I think gets under my skin ( although I am still a regular reader ) it seems like they are ALL about playing which is super fun, but unfortunately sometimes you HAVE to do chores or cook food or even you know have a little down time. Most of their activities are super cool, but we just cant make it work with the space we are given.

They lost me at teaching a 2.5 year old how to use a hot glue gun. Really? Finger paint with pudding sure, but a 2.5 year old and a hot glue gun is stupid.
I love the light table and some of their ideas, but I haven't tried any of their activities. I agree with the tone. I can't place my finger on what annoys me, but I feel the same way sometimes.
