I have tickets to a Collective Soul concert this weekend, and I'm not sure what to wear. I haven't been to a concert in years. I tend to dress somewhat casually and conservatively, and I'm not a fashionista by any stretch of the imagination. The show is at a small venue that is general admission/standing room only.
GA standing for me means jeans, t-shirt, and especially a hoodie so I can close myself off from the throngs of people pressing against me. I hate GA standing. lol
Also you may want to consider not bringing a purse and just putting your id, cash and cell phone in your pocket, if you can manage it. I wish i had done this at the last concert i went to.
Jeans, t-shirt, zip-up hoodie or light sweatshirt that you can tie around your waist if you want to take it off (I wear my Old Navy yoga jacket to shows), comfortable sneakers (PITA to wear open-toed shoes because you might lose it in a crowd or someone could step on your foot).
Ditto Hani about not bringing a purse. Bring the very bare essentials and stick them in your pocket. Another reason I like my ON yoga jacket is because its pockets zipper up, so I can put my stuff in there if I don't want them in my jeans pocket.
I might also tie back your hair, especially if the crowd will be pushing up against each other or moshing. Nothing worse than getting a mouthful of some broad's sweaty hair when you're at a show
