I'm looking at the TSA website and I can't find the answer to this. Does deodorant have to go in my carry-on liquids bag? I wouldn't consider it a liquid but I've had stuff I wouldn't consider a liquid taken away before.
More specifically, i think roll-on, spray, and gel deodorant are subject to the liquids restriction. (I switched back to solid just because of traveling.)
My dirty little secret is that while I put my size-appropriate liquids in a Ziplock bag, I never take that bag out from the rest of my luggage and I have not been stopped once.
Thanks. Bigger than a quart? That just got me thinking, I wonder if anyone's gotten away with bringing two quart-sized bags and just have them on different ends of your stuff going through the scanners.

They wouldn't know, because they don't check to see what is yours. I think you could do this and if you had them in different boxes it would be fine.

I always take 2 quart sized bags, and I take them out and put them in the same bin and have never been stopped.
I have never exceeded the limit myself but I actually have seen people forced to give up a bag when they have more than one quart-sized bag of liquids. So, it probably depends on what kind of day the TSA agent is having.

if the deod is a solid it's not a liquid. gels, sprays, liquids are liquids and subject to the rule. i've never brought enough liquids/gels etc.. on in my carry on to warrant more than one quart sized bag. dh and i usually have one each.
