This is where I grew up. This is why when I tell people I'm from NY they tell me I'm not. I wish my girl could grow up there, it really was a great place to be a kid.
It doesn look beautiful. I've only been in NYC for like, 20 minutes during a layover in 2000. Luis and I had been planning a week vacation up there before I started working - I have 4 friends who live there now, and of course, Luis is originally from Brooklyn.
Although, maybe I will get the opportunity one day - The Edith Macy Conference Center is in Briarcliff Manor, NY and if there is every a mass finance training or conference, I would get to go.
I want that burger! Lol, the town is Saranac Lake so hence the burger. But I'll bet it's Delicious! I'm not sure where Briarcliff Manor is but Saranac Lake from the city is like driving from here to Key West, except uphill on single lane roads.

I grew up in the Canandaigua area. My dad still lives up there - in Farmington, to be exact. We used to camp all over the place. It's gorgeous up there. I love to visit, but I don't think I could ever move back.
That's cool! I didn't know that. I had a friend from Canandaigua in college. She was a crazy hippy and when we went to the public beach in Oswego she just flung off her top because it's legal, and all the mothers shut their hands over their kids eyes, it was pretty embarrassing. She ended up leaving college early and running away with the Rennaissance Festival to nanny. Not relevant, but I think of her when I hear Canandaigua, lol. Yeah, I could never move back either. Where I am from you pretty much have to work in a prison to make money, literally. Practically everyone I know works for the prison system.
