I'm hoping my doctor will either offer a dating u/s (NOT normal here and will require a separate trip to an u/s lab for me) or just believe me that I know when I ovulated and it was Day 24, not Day 14. That 10 day difference may matter when I get to the end.
I had both + OPK and a temperature shift, and I just got a positive HPT at 11 DPO that was negative at 9, so I'm pretty darn sure of my date.
I see a family doctor, not an OB/GYN. And once again my usual doctor beat me to the pregnancy punch and is due in February, so I'll have to see her replacement or ask really nicely to sneak back in with the doctor I saw last time. Although last time I just went with what the wheel-o-due-dates gave me (I wasn't charting) and delivered on my due date, so this is probably much ado about nothing.
I think some of the online due date calculators ask you either when you LMP was or they give you a choice of when you ovulated if you know it for sure.
Yeah, I've done that and it gives me August 4. LMP gives me July 27. Last time, I was told they induce at 10 days late - so that 10 day difference in due date could be important. If I'm really only 40 weeks on August 4, I don't want them breaking out the pitocin for fun.

I told my doctor that I thought I ovulated about a week late. (I wasn't temping, but I saw some pretty distinct EWCM on a particular date.) When my doctor did my first ultrasound, she agreed that I probably ovulated late, based on the baby's size. She updated my due date accordingly.
I did remember to call the midwife clinic; if I get in there, I might tell the long story and print my chart. If I don't and end up at my normal clinic, I think I'll just make it easy on them.

I'm wondering if I should talk to my dr about this too or change my lmp date to reflect when I ovulated. It's only 4-5 days off so ill probably just mention it but still use my lmp date.

You could always tell them your LMP is 10 days later if they won't do a dating u/s. I told my doctor O date and LMP and baby was measuring by O date.. she didn't change my EDD "because we don't induce until a week late." It was pretty stupid.. I don't plan on breaking out the pit for funsies either bc a few days can mean going into labor on my own and avoiding induction. I know when my "real" EDD is and I'm prepared to fight it if it comes to them pushing induction on me before I'm really a week overdue.
Token, I'm in the same boat. I think I'm just going to fudge the date of my LMP and be done with it. It would change my due date by about 5 days. Since I'm hoping for VBAC, those 5 days could make a big difference, so I'm just going to make it easy for everyone.
We can be fibbers together, mswax. I don't think some people understand the gravity of a due date when you're staring down an induction. I don't think my baby cares when I say it's due - but policies don't necessarily wait until the baby cares to make an appearance on his/her own.
During my last pregnancy, my OB was insistent I was a week and a few days ahead of where I knew I should be. I went with it, but lo and behold, at the 32 week mark he was measuring a week behind. I ended up being induced, but in retrospect should have waited it out. My OB was a total bitch and wouldn't listen to me, though. This time I have a different dr.
