It was a nice low key day. The ILs were still in town.
We were up super early to get ready to do a Turkey Trot (we just did the 1K (we thought it was a 1 mile)) but both kids ran the whole thing and Gray came in 2nd among the kids. He was so proud and has decided he wants to start running races. Thankfully, L wants to get back into running. I hung out with a mom from their school and found out that Carter's best friend at school is moving at Christmas. Carter doesn't know yet and is going to be crushed.
We went into DC and walked around the American History Museum and then the Natural History museum with a friend of ours. We took the kids to their first IMAX movie, which they loved and then home late afternoon. We had purchased 99% of our meal, so we just had to reheat it which was super easy. The meal was great (and we had enough to freeze for Christmas meal!) and we watched the Macy's parade that I had taped that morning. The kids fell asleep watching the parade and I crashed not long there after.
L and her mom went to Kohls and Target at 4am. MIL is an insomniac and is up at 3:30 every morning, but not sure why L was. She woke me up getting ready (which annoyed the crap outta me since I couldn't fall back asleep forever.) I had to work today, but I swung by Kohls to use a $10 off coupon that was only good till 1pm to get a new pair of black pants for me and a couple of shirts for the kids.
I have been at work 90m and it feels like forever.
Thanksgiving was good. We went to MIL's. There were about 14 people there plus Annie and her cousin. Lots of good food and not much drama which is good.
No black friday shopping here. I did take advantage of some of the amazon deals earlier in the week.

Thanksgiving was good. We slept in and then I started cooking. I made maple rosemary spiced pecan, corn bread, gravy, and cheddar herb drop biscuits - all of which we took to our vegan Friendsgiving potluck. There was sooooo much food, all of which I could eat and I loved it. There were two stuffing/dressings, four gravies, three main proteins, tons of veggies, and a bunch of other accompaniments. Then, there was pumpkin and apple pies with ice cream and whipped (soy) cream.
We came home around 7:30-8pm and relaxed before bed. No Black Friday for us, but we may go out later to a local retail chain to get a few things we need for the house.
It was the best Thanksgiving I can remember. It was so wonderful to be at home, and we just had a great day. The babies were up early and I told Jen it was her turn to go get them so she would find the Happy Birthday banner, card and gift that "the babies" had put out for her in their nursery. She was so surprised and happy I went to her favorite coffee place in my pajamas to get her a mocha, and then my sister came over and we watched the parade and cooked - pies, mac'n'cheese, and dates wrapped in bacon.
We went over to my parents' around 1:30 and played with the babies and helped them finish getting the meal ready, and then we ate so much food. My mom had fun helping us feed them solids (we just started barley, after a few days of rice cereal). Our friends and their son (three weeks older than our guys) came over for dessert and everyone got along and conversation was easy - in fact, we're all getting back together tomorrow for a Wii tournament. Brought the babies home and put them to bed and stayed up too late catching up on Grimm.
I usually only go to Old Navy on Black Friday, and I ran by there at 6am this morning on my way to my temp job. It wasn't too crazy. I got two long-sleeved t-shirts for $6 each and a $9 plaid fleece I've had my eye on.
