Lurking on third tri, and I found this. Most of it is pretty normal, but then I found this one:
"You guys really shouldn't be making fun of someone going through a med free birth. There are those of us who are doing it and those techniques you call bad porn movie really do help. Giving birth is sexual, sorry to let you in on that. " :-|
This one is more WTF than stupid. Wow, I'd be PISSED.
So I have a cousin my age and she and I are on friendly familial terms, but have never been very close (very very different personalities). She asked me two weeks ago about what DH and I will name LO so I told her Connor. Saw on FB today that she just got a new puppy and named it Connor.
There is nothing else you could name the dog?? Granted this is not going to change anything...I am still naming my son what we have chosen and I am not going to ask her to change it. Just annoyed!
Dude, your cousin asked you what you were going to name your kid, and then deliberately went out and named a dog the same thing? Now that is the behavior of a class A bitch. Unless your name is Henry Jones Jr and you name YOURSELF after a dog, that's messed up.
Token, what's a hip compression? Sounds like something I should know about.
Pretty much it's someone squishing your hips together by pressing on the outsides as hard as they can. Back counterpressure is pretty similar only pressing straight into your lower back. "The Birth Partner" (book) has good instructions.
Birth looks pretty ridiculous, but anything that works was just fine with me at that point.
I think I would probably have punched my doula in the nose if she tried to 'widen' my hips by pushing on them. Of course, my son's big ol head did get stuck, maybe she should have ;-)
An incompetent cervix runs in my family so my doctor is checking mine every 2 weeks until 24. I will be 16 on Thursday when I go in. I just have a question how it works, does the ultrasound stick measure from the outside of the cervix? It's not going through it is it? What about touching it? Also, if I ask the tech to take a sneak peek at baby do u think she will? If so, does she have to move the probe up through the cervix to get to the uterus? I'm not very savvy when it comes down to this! I'm just praying my cervix stays strong and I have a healthy term baby! It's all new to me! Hopefully someone has some answers! :
