Shut up. I know, lurky-Lou-hoo.
But it reminded me of a story ATM ( forgot the other name she used? ) told back in the day. It is one of the ONLY stories that sticks with me IRL and I only vaguely remember details. Her ex-h saw ghosts ( or sensed them, or something ) and they were driving in the dark one night when he mentioned there was a fucking man ghost in the back seat. I can't remember if he said something to him and told her to stay calm/keep driving or what.
For the entire year after hearing that, I felt so uncomfortable EVERY morning during the 20 minute drive from our house to the gate I used to get off base and on the highway to head to work. This base is huge and a lot of it is rec land. So the 20 minutes to the gate from our subdivision is all on a 2 lane road through thick pine tree woods.
It was still dark (or darkish, in the summer ) and I had to turn my interior lights on and constantly look in my rearview mirror. I didn't even turn the radio on until I reached the gate. I convinced myself the radio would give any spirit more energy to appear or communicate. LOL. Ahh, good stuff. Maybe she followed the move and lurks and can clear the story up. I still mention it to her on fb bc the story gives me random drive-by creeps.
Do you have any ghost stories that stick with you? That you've heard of or experienced yourself?
When I was little we lived in a house previously owned by heroin addicts/satan worshippers. My mom said weird stuff would always happen. I swear I remember one of my stuffed animals would say my name (it was a toy that talked when you pulled it's string). One day out of nowhere a huge entertainment center that was empty in the garage fell on me. It was made out of solid wood so it was really heavy. Luckily I rolled into a ball and it landed around me (it probably would have killed me).
My mom called our priest and got the house blessed and the weird stuff stopped.

I have so many, I could write a book. The first time I remember seeing a ghost, I was 4. My bedroom was at the end of the hall. There was a little nook past my bedroom door where my mom put a book shelf with all our books and photo albums on it. I woke up to noises outside the door. There was a girl sitting there throwing books on the floor. She looked at me and I hid under the covers. I got in trouble the next morning because my mom thought I had made the mess.
My oldest son started talking about and to people we couldn't see as soon as he started talking. He had always babbled to the air before he started talking. He would tell us stories about the man on the side of the road who had been hit by a train or the little boy who lived in my mom's attic. He told us stories of a little girl at a friend's house, described a child who was known to have died in the house in the 1800's and then showed us to her grave in the woods in the back yard of the old plantation house. I've been scratched, had my hair pulled, heard my name called and so many other things. I'll post more later when I have time.

Present I always feel bad that it still haunts you! You're not alone though, I dread driving in the dark alone and always afraid to look in my rear view mirror.
The stuff you remember is pretty accurate. To sum it up. We left the movies around 1 am. ExH started acting weird. Soon I got a weird/uneasy feeling. Next thing I know, after he has looked back several times, he starts telling me to make random turns. A few turns later I start questioning him...he says to just go where he says. I could see it in his eyes he was serious and ....worried? I notice he kept looking back or glancing out of the corner of his left eye. I then knew something was wrong.
We finally reached a family members house about 10 min later. We get out of the car and I look back....all of the windows had completely fogged up. We go inside and he finally tells me that an older man was in the back seat right behind me kind of leaning forward. He was starring at the back of my head and everytime ExH would turn around he would look at them then quickly jolt his attention back to the back of my head. Still completely gives me the creeps. Def one of the most haunting of all my experiences!

Sibil - Fair enough
TX - I remember you having legit stories, too. Come back and share!
T- It still gives me goosebumps!!! You don't have to feel bad. I always wonder if this ONE story gets to me so much because I feel the presence of something on a regular basis (and always have) or if it is because I have an overactive imagination and my mind can't just be still. It somehow gravitates to this one.story.
I love Tx's stories! Omg, thisismyyear, that is really scary. Did you know that he saw ghosts before you guys got married?
Yes, he had told me stories...which is when I realized during the drive he was serioud. I stoped asking questions and just drove where he said because I didn't want to actually know what was going on. I would have jumped out that car so frakin ! (this happened before we were married...possibly engaged)
I have loads of stories from when I was kid although sometimes I wonder if I was just a schizo and didn't realize LOL. I'm still trying to come to terms with whether or not ghosts and sprits are the same thing. Meh.
Our family friend was a priest who I guess was the exorcist of the diocese if such thing exists. His stories always scared the crap out of me. He never talked about exorcising (sp?) a human, but he did talk about some of the places he did. I don't remember them, I just remember being terrified because it had to be true, a priest wouldn't lie to kid! Lol

I used to work at a restaurant that had previously been a home for dock workers and fishermen. It had very old wooden floors. When the place was empty, we would often hear the sound of heavy boots on the floors. There were also times when we would see shadows moving in the kitchen long after the guys who work back there had closed up shop and left for the night. There was a particular "shoot 'em up" game where you would shoot zombies. While on, the zombies would moan and make creepy noises. I always unplugged that first because the sounds were annoying. There were several times when the unplugged machine would come back on and start moaning. One Sunday night, it was just myself, another bar tender and the night's musician who were closing up. I was closing out the server's computer while she closed out the bar computer. Out of no where, a maniacal laugh from an unseen woman scared the hell of out all of us. There were no other people in the building and no one was outside at 4am. The following Wednesday night, I was closing up by my self at 3am. I had finished all my sidework, turned off all machines and lights except the one over the bar and the one at the front door. I was waiting for the credit card machine to finish printing to finish up my paperwork when I got one heck of a chill down my neck. Right behind me I heard what started as a hum and ended up as a woman calling my name. I froze in place and then started yelling at it. "I don't give a rat's ass if you stomp around, dart in shadows, move shit around or what ever. We all know y'all are here. The minute you start calling my damn name is the minute I check the fuck out." I left everything where it was and left. I called my boss and told him. I told him I'd be back bright and early to finish the paperwork. I never closed up by my self again.
TX that is crazy. I would never be there alone either.
I've never seen a ghost, but my aunt's house is haunted and I stayed there for 2 weeks when she was out of town. Weird stuff would happen like the attic light would randomly be on, or the tv would turn itself off or change channels.
When brother was like 2 years old my parents heard him talking in his bed at night and having a conversation so they went to check on him. They asked him who he was talking to and he said it was the blue lady on the wall. He kept pointing to her and telling my parents where she was but they didn't see anything. My mom's real mom died when my mom was around 10 and she was buried in a blue dress, so my mom thinks that's who it was.

SO.. I want to say I don't believe in ghosts I really really do.. But I broke my ankle and was home alone while my parents went on vacation. Conveniently my room is on the second floor.. Well I'm being brave and decide to go to my room to grab something, up was fine down was a different story. I'm a step down and catch my foot on the lip of the step. I was falling down the steps face first eyes open going "shit this is going to hurt.." next thing I know I'm about three steps from the first floor standing on my feet. I sat down right there and freaked out a little. I looked around and said "I don't know who or what you are but thank you." I heard CLEAR as day, "you are welcome" I was home completely alone. I'm still in denial about it. I keep thinking, I must have hit my head..
The guy I date before T had an older brother and he passed away from cancer while we were together. It's been almost ten years and I swear I feel his presence on occasion. It's difficult to explain.
Sophia creeps me out a lot. She'll be sitting with her back to me and chattering away to herself and then look up and start talking and gesturing and then raise her hands up to thin air to be picked up.
