question for minimalist shoe wearers

do you wear socks with these things? which ones?

I just got a pair of the NB minimus shoes (on sale + club discount code from running warehouse=score!). I really like them. I don't feel like there's room for socks, but I also know they are going to get pretty stinky if I don't wear socks.

FTR: I do not intend to run in them ever. I'm just wearing them as casual, walking around shoes.

I wear NB minimus shoes for CrossFit and wear them with a thin sock. They'd be really stinky if I didn't.

so what you are telling me is that the meshy holes in the top of the shoe are not going to provide sufficent air circulation to prevent foot stank.

I knew I was probably deluding myself.

also, I have to say that these things are not nearly as minimal as I thought they'd be. more support/cushion than flats for sure.

Sometimes yes, sometimes no on the socks. I have Saucony Hattori shoes, and they have a thin stretchy material on the top that can accommodate socks.

I don't wear socks with mine, whether running, walking, or weight lifting. I wash them every so often. They just aren't comfortable with socks, for me.
