Any suggestions? They have soaks in vinegar, washed in borax, and now soaking in baking soda/vinegar mixture. They still stink. I'm thinking about trying the lemon juice in the sun. There are some gray and some white t shirts. They were a bag of DHs shirts for a quilt that got misplaced in my parents basement and then got wet. we are just super excited we found them.
Sun. Otherwise..soak them in a 1/4 cup of bleach to a sink full of water. Sometimes Rubes t-shirts sit too long and with food stains they mildew. A soak until the spots disappear (sometimes it's a few minutes, other times over night..just depends) always takes care of. I haven't had a colored one bleach out yet, but I'd try a sample first to be sure.

Ammonia will kill mildew and bleach will get the stain out. DO NOT USE THEM TOGETHER> Wash in ammonia first- rinse well, air dry. Then in the bleach. If they are colored tees, try an oxyclean bleach rather than chlorine bleach.
Line dry in the sun.
When our house was flooded (3' of water on the 2nd floor) I was able to save much of our stuff this way.
