I don't usually watch junk TV, but I have the day off and have Maury on in the background. Do you think these shows/people are real? Do people really cheat on their SO with their cousins, etc?

IDK about Maury but I was pleasantly surprised to find out that Jerry Springee is 100% fake. A dude in H's shop was flown in ( they paid for airfare, hotel, alcohol and a carton of cigarettes.....lol) a few months ago. His g/f and a friend of hers went along with the storyline, I can't even remember what it was.
I do wonder if the Air Force would be pissed if they found out? He didn't get approval from a Commander or anything, not that anyone mentioned. Just took leave.

Interesting. I'm also glad it's fake. It was off limits when I was growing up so I've never bothered to watch it as an adult but I get the gist of it of course.

It was off limits to me, too. As well as The Simpsons, Ouija boards, anything witchcraft, etc. My parents didn't let my middle brother watch HP movies. And now my youngest brother does whatever he wants. Funny how their convictions dwindled.
And now, they do chapter reading with Isaac when we are home visiting or they come here. We've been slowly reading The Sorcerer's Stone. It was one of the books on his Christmas List, lol.

I always feel like these couldn't possibly be real, but then again, look at the stuff in the news. Washing Machine situation, for instance. People ARE this ridiculous. So while Jerry Springer is staged, maybe not ALL are?

I wish. I'm trying to move my family away from the living room at dinner time and into the kitchen. Its getting better as K gets older because A knows how important it is for me, but when its just the two of us forget it.
I can't even instill a no eating outside the kitchen/dining room rule once I get my own home because A won't agree with it (notorious snacker!)

That's hilarious because even though I say it's important, I don't actually follow what I say. For instance: I SAY that once we have kids we won't watch tv and eat, but DH and I do it now. In theory I don't want us to eat in front of the tv, but is it really going to change just because there is a munckin around? Probably not...
