High: Visiting Kansas City and loving it. It's not at all what I expected and its a beautiful city.
Low: Losing it last night. Julie and I have held up pretty well. But last night when we started splitting things and packing some boxes. I just broke down. And now have a ton of built up anxiety.
Low: Owl's sleep is awful, we had to take her out of her bedroom because she has been keeping the baby up. We moved her to the couch (we can see it from our bed) but she crossed the living room, got up on a chair and looked out the window while kicking the cushions of said chair. We moved her back to the couch with a warning only to hear her playing with J's laptop a bit later. She now "sleeps" on the floor next to my side of the bed where she can be closely monitored.
Highs? Getting up and going to the mall alone at 7:30am. I loved having alone time when I wasn't exhausted (typically my alone time is after work.) Had time to stop at Starbucks, got an outfit I think I'll feel okay in, and was still home by 9:15. Also, the kids played really well together almost all weekend. They built forts, played with Legos, had beyblade battles, and read books with minimal fighting.
Lows? While I like chilly weather, I am not a fan of cold weather or the getting children into coats/hats/etc that comes with it.

Can I ditto both of these? I forgot that on Sunday I ran errands all.by.myself! omg it was wonderful! I did a bunch of shopping, returns, etc and all if was sans child. Bliss.
And for the low - JB is wearing gloves instead of mittens, but she can't figure out the damn finger thing by herself. It took me what felt like forever to put on her gloves this morning. And she didn't really need them, but she wanted them. Okay fine. Then no sooner are we in the car than she pulls them off because "no push buttons on my 'puter with 'em on" (referring to her leappad lap top she gets in the car). grrrr.

Highs: Date night on Saturday with A consisting of a fabulous dinner/wine at a great restaurant, Brandi Carlile in concert with the Seattle Symphony and post-concert drinks with friends. Sunday (my bday) the folks went home and A and E and I had brunch, went to a movie and had dinner out...a great day with my two favorite girls.
Lows: It was a long week with my parents and their dog and their lack of respect for my furniture/property which their dog caused damage to. They also really struggled with seeing A and I together since this was the longest they've ever spent time with me and a gf. It was a reality check that caused my mom to make some amazingly ignorant and bigoted statements about how my being gay might influence E. I nipped that shit in the bud real quick but I won't soon forget what was said.

Low: our old stove that we got with the house has been acting up off and on for years. the issue is the chip/electric board that controls it and one of the ways it manifests is with an error that just needs to be turned off and turned back on. The other way is that the broiler (500 degrees) turns on and won't go off without the oven being pulled out or unplugged or turned off at the breaker - which is what was happening this weekend and is a total fire hazard. So, yesterday we decided to just go buy a new one while they were on sale. That was almost a grand that we could easily use for something else.
Highs: our Friendsgiving potluck on Thursday and spending 5 days together mostly spent sleeping in, making yummy food, getting a bunch of stuff done around the house: all the laundry, including curtains, new dresser set up in the guest room/future nursery, our closet cleaned out and the old dresser brought into it, pulled out clothes to donate, old books taken to the used bookstore, bought a new stove (coming Thursday), new light fixture hung in our room, and some ah hem, "quality time."
High: my birthday celebration sunday with family. The girls wereexcited and made some cute cards for me. I got a nook yhthat i had been wanting !
Low: wednesdays cancelled visit at the last minute + thanksgiving + 6 days off school equaled some pretty big tantrums from zucchini. Draining for all 5 of us
