Did you know you're not supposed to store tampons in the cabinet under the sink? Especially if you use applicators. Tampons can grow mold in the dark, warm, damp enviroment under your sink. If you use applicators, you would never know since they go right in! If you use applicator-free, they're stil able to mold, but you'd notice it first.

Wouldn't this only be a problem if you kept the same box/tampons stored for months and months? The sized box I buy usually only lasts me 1 1/2 months, then I buy a new/fresh one. That is why I don't buy Costco sized tampons.

i don't know...how long does it take mold to start growing?

IMO by the time you've used a box mold has long been able to start growing.. it doesn't take long for mold to grow given the right conditions etc.

yah, the thing i saw on tv said it might not start at your own home too..if it gets moist enough elsewhere, then stays in your dark cabinet, it could get worse.
and totally agree, lib, that's why i live in a bubble.
Eww. I have to use tampons I can't stand pads. I go through them pretty quickly and don't store them under the sink but thinking about it happening before I even buy them freaks me out a little.
