All's well that ends well. He was truly a trooper. Biomom didn't show up (a little sad for her, and a little relieved not to have to argue about decision making). They kept him nearly all day to monitor his breathing, but I was relieved that he could come home at night. He is in a little discomfort, but slept better than I thought!
So glad to hear. Extra breathing monitoring is normal for people with asthma - our airways tend to take a while to "perk up" after anesthesia - but not fun when you're just sitting there at the hospital.
