... on the Instagram photo grid. It's a cute, cheap idea. And actually, I like what they're doing with the basement/workshop after clearing out the junk and cleaning it up a bit.

I agree with HB, I thought it was dumb. Why in the world would you hang pictures in your workshop? Random pictures of your kid at the beach no less? It didn't make sense.

While I tend to want to support YHL's blog, yesterday's post about the Instagram pics in cd cases in a man's workshop was off the mark for me. Kind of like the post about men picking out fabric. HUH?
Yeah I'm with HB and the others on this one. Cute enough project but these people DIY for a living and therefore I expect better. When I saw the post I immediately said to myself - "I hope they don't take to decorating this basement like the last one, with painted cabinets and a table with chairs and stuff". Really, who does that?

OMG! Yes, I just saw that, and my first thought was none of those are manly.
Eh, it's a cute, mostly disposable display to look at when he's down there hiding from Sherry. I'm waiting for a Craigslisted recliner and minifridge to end up down there too.
I seriously don't know how they spend so much time together, DH and I commute together, between that and when we're home it's almost too much togetherness some days.
They've always displayed more pictures than I would care to in my home. I just don't get why you would want to be constantly looking at family memories. Sure, they're nice...but constantly, all day up and down every hallway, in every room and now at the workshop?? Overkill for me. But then again I am the girl who's taken almost 5 years to order wedding photos.
I have 0 problem with displaying photos, especially of family members, in workspaces. BUT I feel like by putting them on the pegboard you are seriously cutting down on the amount of useable storage that you have. I would have probably put them in columns of 3-4 on the concrete so that you could use the pegboard for what it is intended for.
I love putting out photos - that's part of what makes a house a home to me. But I don't understand putting them in a workshop basement like theirs. Five minutes of running a saw and those plastic CD cases will be dirty and covered with sawdust. It seems like a project just for the blog and not something you'd actually do IRL - putting photos in the basement, that is.
So they want some "happy" in what looks like a dreary workshop. Good for them. It's not something I would do, but I certainly don't think it's weird. If my husband wanted to put some pictures up of our family and DD in the garage where he works on cars, it's cool with me. If it makes him smile, great.

I actually had a countdown going on in my head for when they were going to pull the whole "Look! We are starting a bigger project near Christmas!" thing, like they applied today to the sun room make over today. Even their actions are getting repetitive, just like their projects.
