We are flying out of the Seattle airport this weekend really early (5am). I've never flown out of here before so I'm hoping you guys can help.
How early do you usually get to this airport? I always tend to arrive at about the two hour before mark due to paranoia but this is so early that I'd like to get a little extra sleep if possible.

I usually get to the airport about an hour and a half before the flight and usually have a lot of time to spare. BUT, I can't remember the last time I flew out of SeaTac on a weekend, so I don't know if it's busier (especially being a holiday weekend). Early in the morning, I'd think you'd be okay 1 hour or maybe 1.25 hours before...if you have a S gate or N gate, I'd give it a couple extra minutes for the tram thing.
normally, i'd get there 1 hour early for domestic, 2 hour for international...since it's a holiday weekend, i'd get there at least 1.5 early up to two hours.
I'm trying to remember, I don't think the airport is even open until 4am.
this too. I mean, really, any time I'm at the airport that early there is hardly anyone there. And I still can't remember a time in all my flying that it's been a problem to get through security.
I'm trying to remember, I don't think the airport is even open until 4am.
the middle security gate is always open, but the other two don't open till 4am.
The food places open at 5ish.
...but if you are needing to stop at your airline counter before security, you might want to call and find out when they open. I've gotten there really early, only to be looking at a closed counter for half an hour.
