If you count calories, do you give yourself extra calories according to your exercise? The last time I was successful at weight loss, I didn't do this, but My Fitness Pal is adding calories burned to my available calories for the day.
Yes. MFP is set up so that it already deducts from your base allowance the calories to create the deficit needed to lose weight. It's designed so that you "earn" extra calories to eat with exercise.
I've been doing it successfully for 4 months and 30 lbs now.
ETA: MFP also has me at 1200-1300 calories per day which is a really low amount and so if I do exercise, I need to eat those back to avoid creating too large of a deficit for my body to function.
I don't. Even though MyFitnessPal adds them back in, I don't eat them back. I stick to the number of calories I've allotted for myself. I will give myself a bit more leeway when I go for a 10 mile run or something, but for a regular 45 min workout, I usually don't.
