So interview went just fine. The best part of it, I got a good dose of perspective. I've realized that I work for a kick ass, chill company that really vibes with me The people, the culture, the place.
The grass isn't always greener.
I'll pass on the opportunity. It isn't the right fit.
It's good that you went and you found that out. What were some of the things that you felt didn't vibe with you?
The job title is for a manager, but this is NOT a management job. Creative advertising to lure in better candidates I'd imagine.
There is 50% PLUS travel.
This is a new position with little direction. My manager knows nothing about training.
The company is privately owned with no plans ever to go public.
It's a "good ole boys club" and not progressive.
It's located in an industrial park and the office is not inviting.
The plus, the content I would train on is pretty easy and applied in a cool format.
My current company is seriously cool. Everyone is young and innovative and passionate.
A funny story, when I started, I walked in to meet a founder, and he gave me a big hug. He was shoeless, jamming to Bob marley, drinking a smoothie he made in the kitchen.

Glad that you at least got something out of the interview! I used to work for a super laid back company when I was in sales and it made a huge difference. I traveled 90% of the time, but on Fridays the owner pushed a cart around the office and give everyone a drink at 4pm.

Sweet!
Fridays at our office at happy hour too. They have a fridge full of amazing microbrews. We even name our software release after beers and have blind taste tests to name them. To make them even cooler, then send me beers to my door to sample so remote employees can be part of the fun!
This interview might have been the thing I needed to realize how much my company kicks major ass.
ETA: when/if you hear me complain, remind me of this convo. K thanks
Ha, your company sounds awesome. I thought it was awesome that we have Jeans day every other Thursday - which is our Friday. Well, until we move to the new Leadership Center in Late July/August. Then I'm back to 5x8
