I had my carpets cleaned last February. They're so so again because I have a bad habit of letting the toddler drag her snack dish everywhere. Also the foot path from the basement up cuts across my LR. So there's a dark trail where everybody traipses. Not bad enough to have shampooed again but I definitely wanted it cleaned up a bit before the holidays.
I bought some to try out tonight. Stuff works quite well. Sprinkle on, work in with a stiff brush (I used a clean broom) let sit 20 minutes and then vacuum.
The downfall is that it takes like 4 vaccuums to get it all, but once it's done the biggest stains were out of my carpet and it looked a lot fresher. I followed the same pattern on the first 2 vacuums and criscrossed the last 2. I had nothing in the dirt cup by the end, so I did get it all.
I have always thought that resolve was a pretty good cleaner, but I found that the areas that we used it on seemed like it left some residue that attracted dirt.

I've noticed that with the spray stuff I use constantly on my entry rug. I haven't seemed to notice it with the powder, but I don't use it often at all. Like once a year. This is the second time I've done and the previous time was last Christmas-ish.
