I don't generally get all excited about kids belonging to other people. The only exceptions are the babies of BFFs. And I'm super uncomfortable holding strange kids.
Oh ITA! I used to do some work with kids be use I "love kids," but I quickly realized I only love kids that are related to me or belong to people I love.

Ok I'm all about admiring cute babies - strangers or not. But I think bringing a baby around to each person is so AW-ish. The people who want to coo over the baby will find their way over. The rest...will stay out of it.

I was really worried about not having a maternal instinct when I was pregnant with DD. Turns out I love my kid, but I'm just not so fond of other people's children.
If I like the people, I usually like seeing their kids. The forced cooing/talking is NMS though. In our office when someone's baby is there, there's usually an e-mail or jsut talk about them being there and when you want to see them you go over and say hi, if you're busy (or don't like 'em) you just stay in your office. I prefer it that way!
I do not like other people's children unless they belong to someone I love. That means there are four babies I like. The rest I find super annoying the majority of the time.

I don't mind when toddlers come in because you can talk to them, but I totally agree about babies. You look at them for 2 seconds and then you're like. ok... now what? And it's awkward to just walk back to your desk to keep working.
