We use AT&T and it is about $110 a month but that includes my iphone data plan, my husband and mother's non-data plan. I think my plan alone is like $69.99 and then they're like $9.99 per line. It includes data up to 2GB(?) and I think 200 texts and I have never come remotely close to using my data (or my minutes) but my texts on the other hand....

Do you use the internet a lot?
We have 2 iPhones and currently have 700 shared mins, both unlimited data and texts and Verizon just nailed us $100 in overages. We pay $180 every month.
We have Sprint. 2 iPhones and a 4G phone with full data. I believe the bill is 169 but MIL is paying it right now. She took it over when I took maternity leave and we never took it back. I guess we should do that since I'm back to work, even if it is only 2 days a week.

That seems insanely high. We have Verizon. Two iPhones w/unlimited data and text and 1400 shared minutes. Plus a regular phone with a limited data package, 500 texts and 400 minutes and our bill is $220 a month.
This may be my poor reading comprehension but are some of you saying that you pay in the $100s each month for BOTH you and your husband's smartphones, including everything?
If so, me and MH pay over $100 each month for both of our regular non-smartphones so I wanted to double check.
If we can only pay a bit more each month and I can finally have a cool, updated phone that doesn't make me feel like a dinosaur, I'd like to do it!

Lauren, Yes we pay $180 for 2 smartphones and data.
Thank you everyone! I am glad to see that we are not the only ones paying a high bill. My husband swears that everyone at his work pay 1/2 of what we do and have more phones.
DH and I have T-Mobile, both have smartphones, and pay about $160 a month. DH has to have unlimited everything, since he's on the phone about 6000 minutes a month (no exageration) plus he needs data and texting. I just reap the benefits.
Is Verizon way more expensive than other providers or something? We have Verizon too.
Kim, yours sounds like a good deal, unlimited everything for just 160/mo for both of you? Is that a good price or am I very clueless?
MH has been so stubborn for the past year now, saying we absolutely will not pay extra for smartphones and data plans. But now I think we're getting ripped off. We just lowered our bill by cutting minutes that we weren't using. So our new bill, including taxes and everything (and also including a discount I get through work) will be maybe $120 and this is for 2 regular phones, no data, etc.

Everyone is getting ripped off! HA.
Everyone that I know that uses T-mobile complains of service issues. I never have service problems with Verizon. Verizon and AT&T are the most expensive.

It is a good deal, although I have no idea how we got it. Although they have something similar right now for $140, with a lower data speed. I know some people have not had the best luck with T-Mobile, but I have had it for over 5 years now and haven't had a serious issue, except for their lack of iPhones .

See that's what I thought-- I know Verizon has great service because we've had it for years and loooove it, never any problems with calls, etc. I had Cingular back in the day, which is now what- AT&T? I had it in college and it was HORRID, dropped calls all the time, etc. But that was like 10 years ago so maybe stuff is just better now in general.
We have Sprint and both have the HTC EVO 4G. We have unlimited data (that doesn't slow down after a certain point) and 1400 shared minutes, unlimited mobile to mobile regardless of carrier and free incoming calls. We NEVER come close to using all of our minutes and we don't have a home phone. We pay $165/month but that is with LEO discount (15% I think).
Side related note: the mobile app for this board is aaawwweeesssoommmeeee!!!!

Yes I use the internet a LOT and have never gone over on usage charges....but I don't download music or video's etc just internet surfing. I get mad when my husband goes over on texts and our bill jumps to $120, .I cannot imagine paying $150+ like what others have posted.
I think if I were to get my husband an iphone/data plan then it would only add an additional $20/month. We are on a family plan and do have a little bit of a company discount but it's not much.
