I was planning on switching my pups to a better food than what they were on this weekend (since I need to get more food anyway) to Chicken Soup for the Dog--just the regular formula, not the light. I haven't heard anything lately about the recalls. Think this is a safe move if it hasn't been recalled by now?

Dogs are rarely susceptible to salmonella -- it was recalled because people were getting sick after handling the food (you're supposed to wash your hands after handling kibble, just as you would after handling raw meat). I planning on staying on Taste of the Wild, despite the recall.
From what I understand there Chicken Soup for Dogs was recalled - however, any recalled bags are off the store shelves, and what they have in stock will be safe for your pet!
The issue was possible salmonella poisoning, people were the ones being affected by salmonella - not the pets (although that is possible if you have a pet with a weaken immune system, I think - I'm def not an expert! ;D).
I would say go for it! If for some uncanny reason they end up doing another voluntary recall, which I doubt, most pet store will give you a refund if you bring in the bag. Otherwise the company will send you a coupon for a new bag. I say you have nothing to worry about!

Nope, you should be ok. We feed a brand where some flavors were recalled and not others, so we just switched flavors. You should be able to look on their site for a list of what is recalled.

Another thing you should know is that it is apparently only the East Coast manufacturing site that was affected. At least as far as TOTW goes. Our local store has TOTW all stocked up and when I asked, the CS girl was like "yep, but it's only the eastern US, due to a different manufacturer." So if you're west coast, or at least western-ish, you would be ok as well.

As has already been said, any bags that would be affected have already been removed from the shelves. Anything they are selling now will be safe. You should be sure to always wash your hands carefully after feeding regardless of whether there's a recall or not though!
