Grief and Joy

Last week was an emotional roller coaster. Our beautiful Sassy passed away just a few months shy of her 17th birthday. Sassy was such a sweet, loving cat and needless to say the tears flowed with her passing. I still can't believe she is gone. Sometimes I see a shadow out of the corner of my eye and think it is her. It was also so sad to see our other cat, Katie look for Sassy in her usual spots and not be able to find her.

I really thought DH and I would wait quite a while before getting another pet but just out of curiosity I went on the internet and came across one of the local humane society websites. I scrolled down to see pictures of pets they had available and came across a picture of the most adorable persian mix cat. I showed DH the picture and he agreed we just had to have her.

So on Saturday we adopted Amber who had been left in a cardboard box outside the door at the humane society a few weeks ago. We feel so blessed to welcome Amber to our family.

I'm so sorry for your loss of Sassy. I'm glad you were able to give Amber a home though, she is very cute.

What a cutie! I have 2 silver-shaded persians with similar faces and they are just the cutest.

I'm so sorry about Sassy. I'm sure you gave her a wonderful life.
