Is this a bad idea?

My degree is in PR, as is most of my work experience. I kind of fell into my current job at the company I work for, but in the long run, I'd really like to get back into PR.

My friend who is in the field wants me to start networking with some of her connections and send her my resume for her company.

Is this a dumb move while pregnant? My maternity leave here isn't that great (6 weeks), but it's probably better than at a new company. But that's just a guess.

I would def network and get your name out there is this is something you want to do. The only thing I will note is that dependibng where you live, you may not be paid for your maternity leave if you are at your company less than a year. Also FMLA takes 12months + 1 day to kick in, so your job may not be protected while you are gone either.
