should only be chopped while wearing gloves. EVER. That freaking oil will stay on your hands forever, no matter how many times you wash them. And it burns when it comes into contact with ... well, everything.

wawa - I do. There was a learning curve, for reals, and there were times the first month I wanted to throw it across the room. But I tried some different stuff each month for the first couple months and I've been really pleased with it. SO convenient, especially as a swimmer.
I was going to suggest the milk. I once got burns on my fingers after chopping a ton. I just tend to make an effort to only hold them by the skin and chop it into big pieces first so it stays flat, then chop it smaller.
