mrsleftyashleyp728 I'd be happy to sell it to you ladies! I tried selling it as a full lot to make things easier..people have contacted me, but no follow through so it's time to break them down. I am way too lazy though!
When I'm holding her brother, and she wants to be held, I tell her I can't cause i'm holding brother. She'll then turn to the closest adult and ask that person to hold her brother.
I make sandwiches ahead of time. Cut in half and left in fridge, that way if I'm not too hungry I can grab just half, too. There is a science to properly layering/stacking the insides to not make it soggy!
Does your library system hold story time? SPL sets out books that you don't even need a library card in order to check out. Tacoma/Pierce libraries might do the same.
No clue on disinfecting. I'm clearly achoo! not much of a hack! cough germaphobe though.
To keep current books fresh, I just read them using funny voices, or take extra time to talk about the pictures, make up mini-stories about what's going on on the page.
Until they realize what you are reading and realize you are DOING IT WRONG.
Oh and shevacc traveling when they are little is a dream. Bjl's age, not so much
It'll be interesting being a bridesmaid when I'm all leaky, with itty bitty possibly spitting up everywhere. But I do vaguely remember it being easier to travel with G when she would sleep much of the time.
Yes spunbutterfly, STM is usually faster, but the fact that progressing 1cm in 4 hours after epi is the part that fully makes me a believer in "epi prolongs labor".
I have two more trips before maternity leave is over.
We had beignets our first morning. Delicious! Ps Kahala is with us for this trip
Good work with all that planning! We'll be going to San Francisco when I'm 6 weeks post partum but so far nothing else scheduled yet.
Sounds like returning to work is your current plan?
I hope you're having a great trip with @kahala!
Yes. Even though my dream is to be a sahm, working is easier and it pays more lol. My first world problem is that I get paid too well to become a sahm.
It's still Friday on the west coast--just saying hello from New Orleans! I love seeing that the board has been active. Will catch up slowly throughout the weekend
How many trips do you have planned, lady!? I hope you're enjoying New Orleans! Have you eaten any beignets yet? I haven't been back since my aunt's wedding when I was 10 and I still remember how good those were. Safe travels!

If any ktfu or new moms wants lanolin, I can dig up somewhere between one and ten bottles of it, free for you to have. A friend of mine told me I MUST have it, and when I saw some on clearance bc they changed te packaging (they exp in 2015), I asked we if I needed 10 tubes, and she said yes....I used lanolin maybe twice. I didn't need it, wasn't sure what it was doing for me/my boobs. I lost them sometime when I moved, but I found one in a pile of clothes the other day, so I'll at least have one!
No sleep training, I prefer to use a "rough" schedule and don't want the kids tied down to sleeping in one scenario only. I have friends whose kid can only sleep laying flat in a dark, quiet environment and must nap at certain times of the day. Nope nope nope. That does not work for our lifestyle. I love that bjl does not have tantrums when she's tired and will just beg to be held when she is tired (or I carry her in ergo) so that she could fall asleep in our arms (and then get laid down afterward).
Even though right now I'm completely exhausted and overwhelmed, I'm fully in the camp of "kids are only little once", and if they want to snuggle with me, I will snuggle them. They will not want to be held or sleep with me forever. I will sleep when they're 18...maybe.
Didn't read the article, sorry! But hasn't it always been known that epi prolongs labor (not new info)? Of course, not in ALL situations, but a good chunk of them?
Ftr, I labored forever with bjl, epi 8hrs into it at 9cm, didn't hit 10cm for 4more hours after, pushed for 3 hours. No epi with boy, labored for about 8 hours before pushing for 40.
I wish I had a moby or RS for nb...I always imagine it'd be much easier. My MIL uses random fabric she has and ties her own carriers that look like a RS, but tied. I don't trust myself/her to use these, but she trusts herself to use these with my kids, and I trust that she trusts herself, if that makes sense?
For 2mos+, highly rec ergo. I have no issues with it with boy, and i still wear bjl on my back a lot with it, esp since we've been doing a lot of traveling, she can take a 2-3 hr nap on my back while I walk/hike.
