My mom has asked me about 10 times what time I plan on heading north today. I've told her about noon after our office Christmas party. I know she wants me to leave earlier because it's a 9 hour drive but I think I can stand to leave a couple hours later.
We have a few students who have needs, such as coats, or they really depend on the lunch program for food, so they won't have anything to eat over winter break. We have been able to put together boxes of food and gather coasts, new shirts and pants, even a new pair of shoes to send with these kids when they leave today. It warms my heart.
Fine! My friend thinks it was a muscle cramp because I've been working out a lot more this week.
I got super worked up over it yesterday and couldn't relax, so I took a benzo last night and cuddled with the roomie's kitty. I have no pain today. I think my friend was right, and I just needed to relax.

Phew! I am glad that you are feeling well. Have fun with Mr. H (groomy?)
-Today is also my last day in the office until the 2nd. I think there are 4 of us here today on my entire floor. -DH is having some more tests done, but it looks like he has diabetes. -We're leaving tomorrow to see my family for Christmas, but we're spending tomorrow at the Biltmore. I've never been before and I'm giddy about seeing their Christmas decorations.

This is the first year in several years that no one in my house knows what they are getting for Christmas. It makes the gift giving exciting again. DD (14) didn't have anything she wanted this year, so I decided to just buy whatever I thought she'd like. I'm excited to see her open gifts.
Tonight starts our Christmas celebration. Family holiday movie night tonight, zoo lights tomorrow, Then 3 days of Christmases.
My mom is a horrible cook. Her idea of Christmas dinner is throwing some sliced ham in a crockpot of water and letting it boil, boiling egg noodles in water until they are so mushy they have the texture of mashed potatoes, and boiling some corn and green beans. She uses no seasoning because she says "some people don't like all the seasonings, so let them season it themselves." She's all about quantity. She'll make 10 side dishes, all boiled into oblivion and almost inedible.
I try to host most family dinners for this reason. She had surgery on her leg though, so I told her I would cook at her house. I'll get there early and she can just rest. I told her not to buy anything, I'll bring and cook everything. I'm emphasized that I really, really wanted to cook this dinner.
Today she called and told me that she bought a ham. I told her I already had a honeybaked ham. She says, "that's ok, we'll make them both!"
No, mom, we will not make them both. WE ARE FEEDING FOUR PEOPLE and dad and DH hate your ham. They will not pick your ham over mine.
WHY does she always do this stuff??? Everytime I cook for her she's always like "OMG, this is sooo good, I'm going to make this for our next dinner!" But she NEVER does, if she did we wouldn't have this problem.
I need to make my grocery list. We have a service in town that will deliver your groceries the same day for $9.98, or the next day for $4.98. 5 bucks saves me from the grocery store? Hell yes!
I still have some christmas shopping to do. Boo.
One of my headlights is out. I'll have to see if my dad can fix that for me.

This sounds like my MIL. I hate going over to her place to eat. HATE.

I am so excited for the yankee swap at tomorrow's party with H's family. I'm so proud of the gift I'm giving - it's hilarious and I can't wait to see the reactions.
I drove my 2011 car through a puddle this morning and now it is making a horrible metal scrapping sound. I waited on hold for 45 minutes on the roadside assistance line to just get the tow truck. Now its being taken to the dealership who only wants to cover it if it falls in warranty. I am so scared I will have to fight them on fixing it. I drove through a puddle. The car is AWD and should be made to handle more than that. I just dont want a huge bill from this.
